Highlights include places of interest, archaeological sites, airports, and rail routes are highlighted. Colored tinting shows elevation. Inset shows detail for Central Tripoli. A short paragraph gives basic facts about Libya and a brief glossary.
Legend in English, and includes; ferry routes, oil and gas pipes, rivers, stream or creeks, aqueducts, dunes, international/national airports, airfields, ports, gas stations, campsites/huts, rest houses/hostels, oil wells, border crossings, points of interest/vistas, historic ruins/sites, museums, castles, forts, potteries, missions/churches, oasis, parks and reserves, caves, and beaches.
This is the 3rd Edition, but data is pre-2011 revolution. It is extremely difficult to find more up-to-date information. The north coast of Africa is also the southern edge of Roman Africa, and the best-preserved ruins are in Libya, which was also the site of the famous Battle of Tobruk in WWII. This travel map shows roads into the desert as well as the coastal region.
